Utilities, Survey, Site, Drawing, and Modelling
Request a fully attributed, menu driven, survey codelist.
Trimble, Leica, TopCon, and 12d field all have unique operating systems and require specifically formatted codelists.
OPA has authored survey codelists with comprehensive menu items that reduce typing in the field, increase productivity, and standardisation helps prevent errors entering the office.
The lists of entries for each attribute capture almost all possibilities for each utility, and the remaining fraction of rare instances are managed using obvious ‘catch-all’ options. Ensuring your one-off asset doesn’t lead to the critical failure of your deliverable.
The survey point attribute set, and a standardised drawing template, promote data reliability and automation in your deliverable workflow.
Support your field teams with training and advice.
Whether you’re internally upskilling locating staff, using experienced field surveyors, or training newly qualified personnel. It helps to have a resource on hand that can speak the languages that span your organisation.
OPA will be available to answer questions and offer advice about how best to represent the knowledge of your locating team in the digital arena.
We can be engaged to provide face-to-face training, but we’ll stand by the well crafted elements of our system, and suggest that the intuitive nature of the items we provide will require minimal interrogation by any of your personnel, including office engineering staff.
The foundational components of our system represent the distillation of 30 years of surveying, engineering, and project management experience. Which have been applied to the evolving utilities investigation sector in Australia.
Change or addend your own survey codelist.
OPA can provide a codelist for services and the most commonly encountered features, like power poles, distribution nodes, kerbs, exchanges etc.
Alternatively, if you’re already using a codelist based on the Vic-numeric format, or your own alpha-numeric codelist, we can append your provided list and add the service specific section to it. This way you only have one list and one workflow throughout your field teams.
Whether your managing things like “quality” or “asset owner” via point codes, or you’re using advanced survey software like 12d to access metadata to digitally archive the survey data correctly, we can provide a consolidated codelist that best suits your ongoing operations.
